Fujifilm South Africa has just dropped the latest addition to its X Series lineup: the Fujifilm X-T30 III, a mirrorless camera designed to combine sleek portability with top-tier imaging performance. Launching as the successor to 2021’s X-T30 II, the X-T30 III continues Fujifilm’s tradition of packing flagship features into a compact, lightweight body, weighing only 378g while retaining the classic center-viewfinder design photographers love.
At its core, the X-T30 III sports the trusted 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and the high-speed X-Processor 5, the same engine powering the flagship X-T5. This upgrade delivers roughly double the processing speed of its predecessor and introduces Fujifilm’s latest subject detection autofocus, ensuring fast, accurate focus in both stills and video.
Film Simulation Dial for Instantly Stunning Looks
One of the standout features of the X-T30 III is the new Film Simulation dial, located on the top left of the camera body. First seen on models like the X-T50 and X-M5, this intuitive dial lets photographers switch between 20 Film Simulation modes on the fly. From the faithfully vibrant REALA ACE to the soft, saturated tones of NOSTALGIC Neg., the dial allows users to instantly capture analogue-inspired aesthetics. Additionally, the dial features three customizable slots (FS1–FS3) where photographers can save their own preferred “FS recipes,” making it easy to switch between personalized looks for different shooting moods.

Next-Level Video Capabilities
Videographers will appreciate the X-T30 III’s 6.2K/30P recording at 4:2:2 10-bit, 4K/60P, and high frame rate 1080/240P options. It also introduces a 9:16 Short Movie Mode, perfect for creating social-media-ready clips. Combined with powerful electronic image stabilization, the camera reduces everything from subtle hand shake to motion when shooting video while walking, making smooth, cinematic footage achievable even handheld.
Familiar Features, Streamlined Experience
Fan-favorite features like the pop-up flash and AUTO shooting mode switch lever return. In AUTO mode, the camera recognizes and tracks subjects automatically, allowing users to focus on composition without worrying about technical settings.
The X-T30 III is built to appeal to first-time digital camera users and seasoned photographers alike, offering a seamless, intuitive shooting experience designed to bring more joy to photography.
Release and Pricing
The Fujifilm X-T30 III is set to arrive in South Africa on 6 December 2025, priced at R19,560 (incl. VAT). The X-T30 III kit, paired with the new XC13-33mm F3.5-6.3 lens, will hit stores during the second week of December for R23,000.
Fujinon XC13-33mm F3.5-6.3 Lens: Lightweight Zoom Power
Alongside the camera, Fujifilm also introduced the Fujinon XC13-33mm F3.5-6.3 OIS lens, offering a versatile focal range from wide-angle 13mm (20mm equiv.) to standard 33mm (50mm equiv.). Despite its range, it remains Fujifilm’s smallest and lightest zoom lens, measuring just 37.5mm in length and weighing approximately 125g, making it the perfect companion for the X-T30 III. The lens will be available locally in January 2026 for R8,280 (incl. VAT).
With the X-T30 III, Fujifilm continues to prove that you don’t need a bulky DSLR to get pro-level results—compact, stylish, and powerful photography is now more accessible than ever.
