Ray-Ban just leveled up. Fashion innovator, cultural tastemaker, and music icon A$AP Rocky has officially been named the brand’s first-ever Creative Director. Known for redefining style across music, fashion, and street culture, Rocky will steer creative projects at Ray-Ban Studios, shaping the brand’s next chapter while blending heritage with modern edge. His first move? The Blacked Out Collection — a fresh take on the Mega Icons featuring all-new ultra-black lenses, slated for release in April 2025.

Rakim Mayers, better known as A$AP Rocky, has dominated global music and fashion since 2011, amassing billions of streams and countless accolades. Following the release of his fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, Rocky now channels his creative energy into Ray-Ban Studios — the platform launched in 2016 to celebrate music, art, and bold storytelling. This partnership signals a new era where Ray-Ban’s timeless identity meets Rocky’s boundary-pushing vision.

“I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving,” says Rocky. “I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban.”

Ray-Ban President Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio adds:

“Ray-Ban isn’t just eyewear; it’s a lifestyle. For nearly 80 years, it’s been on the faces of the world’s most iconic artists, musicians, and cultural trailblazers. A$AP Rocky is a visionary creator whose work pushes boundaries — a perfect alignment with Ray-Ban’s DNA of innovation, courage, and pioneering spirit.”

Rocky’s first project, the Blacked Out Collection, transforms classic Mega Icons into statement-making frames, complete with gold-plated accents and ultra-black lenses. But his influence goes further: he’ll direct campaigns, reimagine Ray-Ban stores, and infuse music, fashion, and the arts into every corner of the brand experience. With Rocky at the helm, Ray-Ban is not just evolving — it’s rewriting the rules of style and culture for a new generation.
