Big Sean has officially released his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Better Me Than You, via Def Jam Recordings. The project marks the rapper’s first solo full-length release since the PLATINUM-certified Detroit 2, signaling an important new chapter in his artistic journey.
The 21-track album features a wide range of notable collaborators, including Bryson Tiller, Cash Cobain, Charlie Wilson, DJ Premier, Ellie Goulding, Eryn Allen Kane, Gunna, Kodak Black, Larry June, Nasaan, Syd, Teyana Taylor, The Alchemist, and Thundercat. The extensive list reflects Sean’s intention to craft a project that explores different sounds, emotions, and musical textures.
Alongside the album release, Big Sean unveiled the official music video for “Who You Are (Superstar)”, featuring appearances from Amine, Dylan Patel, Jazz Cartier, Mark Phillips, and Taye Diggs. The video adds a visual layer to the themes presented in the album and arrives as one of the standout pieces of the rollout.

Big Sean has described Better Me Than You as an introspective body of work centered on personal growth, responsibility, and self-discovery. He previously explained on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the album is guided by four emotional pillars:

To commemorate the release, the GRAMMY Museum® is hosting a sold-out event titled “A Conversation With Big Sean” at the Clive Davis Theater. The session will feature a discussion about the new album, Sean’s creative process, and his personal and artistic evolution.
Next week, Complex LA will host a special pop-up event on Thursday, September 5.
